College Bound!

Can't believe we are headed to Tyler, TX this weekend with my oldest! Really the time is here? I am grateful because I squeezed in a few more months of him being with us as he took time this past spring, summer, & fall of 2014 to travel on the Men's Pro tennis circuit. Well he is an APACHE now & a new journey has begun. We are pumped! He is part of a tennis team his Dad & Aunt Kim were once players for!
BRING IT LOGAN POWELL

What Animal I was in my past life!

You were the Lion. Protective, smart, and powerful, you conquer any challenge that comes your way,
and if you don't, you walk away with all your pride intact. Your family is your world, and you feel alone without them. You strive to be the leader in every aspect of your life, never letting anyone hand things to you.
You can sometimes be harsh and tough-skinned, and some may leave you because of it, but your loyalty to those who love you is endless.

What Meryl Said!

Loving Meryl Streep... “I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience.” _ Meryl Streep

Another year gone by....SlGH

These two girls are the 2 of the most important people that have come into my life. They have made me a better person. Made me laugh when l never thought it would be possible. Women who loved me for who l am and not for what l have or where l came from. They were honest always. They were my go to's. l still have Penni on the left but Julie on the right went on to big & better things 5yrs. ago today. lt still is very hard to fatham that she is not here but l have her around me when l need her to be. Whether it be a butterfly that lands close by to me or another firey red headed girl with that same sassy humor comes my way l smile and say hello Jewels l'm glad you came my way. So Cheers to those who impact your life and hold on to those that are still by your side. They are few & far between....NAMASTE

That sums it up....

Back to doing what I LOVE!

Hair & Makeup by Me: SuZanne

So I have always dabbled with hair & makeup, ever since I was a very young teen. Learned a lot of techniques when I modeled years ago & now I get to put them to use on others as they begin their journey down the path of beauty. Here is some of my work. I have been fortunate to be picked up by a fabulous photographer John Conroy. He himself is a International Male Model, so I am having a blast doing what I do!

LISTENING TO HER BREATH AS SHE SLEEPS! BEING THANKFUL

This is the thing: When you hit 28 or 30, everything begins to divide. You can see very clearly two kinds of people. On one side, people who have used their 20s to learn and grow, to find themselves and their dreams, people who know what works and what doesn’t, who have pushed through to become real live adults. Then there’s the other kind, who are hanging onto college, or high school even, with all their might. They’ve stayed in jobs they hate, because they’re too scared to get another one. They’ve stayed with men or women who are good but not great, because they don’t want to be lonely. … they mean to develop intimate friendships, they mean to stop drinking like life is one big frat party. But they don’t do those things, so they live in an extended adolescence, no closer to adulthood than when they graduated.

Don’t be like that. Don’t get stuck, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and ask yourself some good questions like: “Am I proud of the life I’m living? What have I tried this month? … Do the people I’m spending time with give me life, or make me feel small? Is there any brokenness in my life that’s keeping me from moving forward?”

Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love, and with people who believe … life is a grand adventure. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep traveling honestly along life’s path.....

Dedicated to my sweet friend Monnie as I am thankful to be by her side while she recovers!

A welcomed reconnection!

Cheers to great girlfriends! To being beautiful and staying strong in our own spirit! To getting knocked off the horse and not being afraid to climb back on. To being Mother's, Wives, and Ex's. To holding hands and wiping tears and laughing until our stomach hurts. I am grateful for the true women in my life.

Hard Lessons Learned!

As one's home and workplace expresses one's physical, psychological, and spiritual condition, understanding how the qualities and the flow of energy (or lack thereof) in personal spaces affects your mood and mental state can lead to creating a more harmonious, nurturing environment.
I'm going to get this back and never lose it again....

I have learned a few hard (very hard) lessons the past 3 1/2 yrs. I've lost some pretty signficant loved ones that their lives where taken too soon. I miss them terribly.  I've been knocked down or shoved aside by friends that I let too close but I seem to manage to get back up! I guess I tend to just throw myself into my work and my family daily to make the feeling of abandoment go away. All in all I'm becoming to think that people are just out for #1. I really don't want to be one of those people. My problem is that I don't put myself #1 and I lose sight of where I was headed. I get off my path and onto someone else's because I want to make sure that they are happy & content which I guess I think makes me happy & content which in reality is not the case.  I'm a people pleaser, a caretaker, a servant. Ha, I own a B&B so guess that's fitting isn't it.  But here it goes after the past few days of current events in my workplace & family life and with a very close circle of friends, I really am going to have to learn that I am not a savior.
I have to give up this role that I so strongly have the need to fulfill. Why is that? Sure everyone has a past history of family events but is that why I was put here on earth? To be strong and help others achieve their dreams as well. I always try to be an encourager, a supporter, a reassuring kind of friend. But in the end people are always going to choose their path and even though it's not the path I would have chose
to go down.  It's not my journey, it's theirs. So my lesson is to be a friend, not a protector, not a enabler, and certainly not a savior. I'll leave that up to God and the Universe.

I am not angry, yes I will be sad for awhile but all in all I wish everyone the best!
